Snorkeling Ko Tao

28th – 30th January

On the 28th we got the boat from Ko Phangan to Ko Tao. Because the full moon party was on the 26th-27th, There was thousands of people still trying to leave the island on the 28th. We had to wait for a second boat to arrive at the pier, one hour after the first.

Ko Tao, for me was going to be all about the detox. I was trying to get rid of my cough to take on the Bangkok nightlife. We found a little room at the top of a hill on Sairee beach, it was a basic room just with fan for about $7 each, a 2 minute walk from the beach. We organised a snorkeling tour for the following day.

That night, we ran into a dutch couple who were on our snorkeling tour in Nha Trang, Vietnam. They said how funny it was to see us again, because when they got to Hanoi, they went to a juice shop and saw two photos of us on the wall, with the second one of us standing under the first photo, see here. Funny how these things happen! We caught up with Vasco in the evening of the 29th, before we left for Bangkok on the 30th, with plans to meet up again in Bangkok.
